Southbound Mississippi

In 2018 I travelled a route along the mighty river Mississippi, from Chicago in the north, through Saint Louis, Memphis, Cairo, Baton Rouge and ending in New Orleans.

I wanted to see the empty, former industrial mainland, home for Trump voters and a region trying to find new hope and new ways.

In this region people are basic, hardworking and honest. From the polite, sleek chicago inhabitant to the african or french descendant deep south in New Orleans.

This route is also a trip through the american nostalgia, cars, houses, american products and water.
